Assoc. Prof. Rwitajit Majumdar presented on Learning Analytics.

During the program, Associate Professor Rwitajit Majumdar presented on the application of Learning Analytics in education, as well as focused on the LA-ReflecT platform, a system designed to promote reflective teaching practice, or Reflective Practice, of lecturers and support self-regulated learning for students.

“The goal is to empower teachers through data-driven insights that help improve teaching in a scientifically sound way,” Majumdar said of Learning Analytics and LA-ReflecT. The LA-ReflecT platform allows teachers to create short, focused “micro-learning” activities, while the system’s dashboard provides both learners and teachers with tools to explore, continuously adjust, and analyze engagement. The speaker also emphasized that the platform helps learners gain a better understanding of the learning resources provided in the classroom.

Workshop attendees were able to test LA-ReflecT first-hand with two key features: (1) eye-tracking that analyzes the learner’s focus and (2) ChatGPT that evaluates interaction patterns on the interface. The system provides real-time feedback to personalize learning.
